The US has asked Qatar to make a deal with Hamas

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken issued a strong message asking Qatar to force Hamas to implement a hostage and cease-fire agreement that would end the Gaza war. Otherwise, it creates a risk of expelling the leaders of Hamas from Doha, the capital of Qatar. Two American officials told CNN about that.

The USA began to feel pressured when it became apparent that the negotiations between Hamas and Israel were at a dead end. And immediately, Hamas returned to the negotiating table, presenting a new set of demands in Doha. The indirect talks between Israel and Hamas, brokered by Qatar and Egypt, are the first of their kind in Doha in weeks and are due to resume on Friday.
