"Million Hearts March." The opposition held a rally in Poland

On Sunday, the "Million Hearts March" rally of the opposition took place in Warsaw. In two weeks, elections will be held in the country, which, according to the "Civil Platform" liberal party, can determine the future place of Poland in the European Union and the general position in the country.

According to opinion polls, the "Order and Information" (Pis) party, which has been in power since 2015, may not win this time. It will be challenging to form a parliamentary majority this time. Discontent is growing in the country regarding the rising cost of living and the erosion of democratic check and balance mechanisms.

The opposition hopes the Sunday march held in the capital will attract voters.

Former European Council President Tusk has said that the ruling party could take Poland out of the EU (although the party denies this), and he considered the election crucial for minority and women's rights.

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki's government denies accusations that it undermines democratic norms and insists it aims to protect traditional Christian values from liberal pressures from the West and make the economy fairer.
