Turkey will increase the price of passage through the Bosphorus and Dardanelles by 5 times. The general military prosecutor of Turkey announced this. "The payment system with a 75% discount, introduced in 1983, has been abolished," the message says. The decision will come into effect on October 7.
As the "Sabah" newspaper notes, Turkey's annual income will increase by 200 million dollars thanks to that decision. Currently, Turkey earns 40 million dollars a year through the straits.
