Exhibition in cooperation with the History Museum of Armenia and the British Museum

The History Museum of Armenia, among other prestigious museums worldwide, actively cooperates with the British Museum in London. In 2018, the History Museum of Armenia participated in the international exhibition "I am Ashurbanipal, King of the World, King of Assyria," organized at the British Museum, displaying ten exclusive exhibits from the museum's collection.

In 2023, the British Museum opened "Glory and Power: The international exhibition entitled "From Persia to Greece," in which the History Museum of Armenia also participated, presenting three unique cultural values: the gold breastplate found in Armavir, the clay bull-shaped ritual vessel (VI-V centuries BC), the clay bear-shaped ritual vessel found in Artashat (I BC)).

As part of the exhibition's opening, negotiations were held with the officials of the British Museum. In particular, RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan and Director of the History Museum of Armenia Davit Poghosyan met with the Director of the British Museum Hartwig Fischer and other museum officials.

During the meetings, the perspectives and new possibilities for further cooperation between the two museums were discussed, and the continuity of organizing joint exhibitions was ensured.

With the approval of the Board of Trustees of the British Museum, this year, the History Museum of Armenia's "Mother Deity: As part of the exhibition titled "Mariam from Anahit," it is planned to provide a temporary display of the bust and hand preserved from the bronze statue of the goddess Anahit (II-I centuries BC). For the first time, the exhibits of this relic's importance will be combined with the remarkable exhibits of different periods kept in the Museum of the History of Armenia.

The work of organizing this exhibition is in the finalization stage, after which the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Museum will officially announce the start of the project.

The Ministry of Culture and History of Armenia and the Museum of History of Armenia actively cooperate with the British Museum and other prestigious partner institutions to properly present and popularize the Armenian cultural heritage in Armenia and abroad.
