"We closely monitor the situation, especially the protests, and call on all parties to respect freedom and peaceful assembly. Such legislation is used in the Kremlin and elsewhere to stigmatize and repress civil society organizations and mass media," US State Department Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel said at a press conference.
Patel was asked a question about the bill "On Transparency of Foreign Influence" passed by the Parliament of Georgia in the first reading on April 17.
