Louis Bono, the adviser on Caucasus affairs of the US State Department, visited Georgia

Luis Bono, the senior adviser of the US State Department on negotiations in the Caucasus, is visiting Georgia. He met with Thea Akhvlediani, the Minister of State for Reconciliation and Civil Equality. Akhvlediani informed Bono about the socio-economic initiatives implemented in Georgia and the reconciliation policy. The minister thanked the USA for supporting Georgia's territorial integrity.

"The parties emphasized the ongoing negotiations in Geneva and achieving progress on the issues included in the agenda. The participants of the meeting agreed to continue close cooperation," the Georgian government's press service reports. Later, the American diplomat was received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili. The meeting discussed the situation related to security and human rights in Georgian Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region occupied by Russia, as well as humanitarian issues.
