The US will vote against the resolution proposed by the Security Council

US State Department Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel said on Friday that the United States does not intend to vote in favor of a resolution to admit Palestine as a permanent member of the United Nations.

Patel said at the briefing, "The United States will vote against the resolution proposed by the Security Council."

Palestine now has observer status in the United Nations, while Israel has been a full member of the organization since 1948. The vote on the UN Security Council resolution is scheduled for today.
