The Italian consulate in Tehran has announced a temporary closure

The Italian Consulate in Tehran has announced that it will be closed to the public from April 14 until further notice.

As noted in the diplomatic mission's message on X (formerly Twitter), the provision of consular services "to compatriots is still guaranteed." An email address and an emergency phone number are also provided.

The Republic's Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not recommend traveling to Iran "in any capacity."
