Israel has no choice but to respond to Iran's attack. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant told his American counterpart, Lloyd Austin. Two sources familiar with the matter, including one American official, told Axios about this.
Gallant told Austin in a phone call that Israel could not allow ballistic missiles to be fired into its territory without response, a U.S. official and a source familiar with the conversation said. Israel will not accept a situation where Iran retaliates when Israel strikes targets in Syria, added Gallant.
Israel's military cabinet met on Monday to discuss possible Israeli responses.
