"Turkey should be involved in establishing regional peace." Klaar

The EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia, Toivo Klaar, spoke about how to establish peace in the South Caucasus.

"The EU is involved in the stability and security of the South Caucasus from a long-term perspective. Peace is possible. The goals should be to talk to each other and achieve stable coexistence with demarcation and recognition of borders. It should also include and ensure the unblocking of the borders between Armenia and Azerbaijan, including the connection of the main part of Azerbaijan to Nakhichevan. In addition to the involvement of the EU, we are also waiting for Turkey and its regional leadership to become involved. "Ankara can have a strong influence in opening communication channels in the region and asserting the role of its dominant power in the region," Klaar noted.
