The OSCE chairman will visit Yerevan and Baku

2023 OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia Bujar Osmani, had two separate telephone conversations with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeihun Bayramov. The topic of the talks is the situation in the South Caucasus, with particular emphasis on the issue of the Lachin Corridor.

Minister Osmani emphasized that he closely follows the situation around the Lachin Corridor. He expressed his concern about its impact on the daily life of the civilian population. Osmani called on all sides to ease the tension and enter a constructive and effective dialogue.

President Osmani estimated that measures to strengthen confidence and normalize relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as part of the OSCE toolkit, are crucial elements for overcoming current problems that affect people on the ground.

In this context, OSCE Chairman-in-Office Osmani reaffirmed his readiness for personal interaction to help ease tensions and contribute to efforts to achieve sustainable peace. He also announced that he would make further separate visits to Armenia and Azerbaijan.
