The impression of contrast with Russia appears to be rather like that; Hakob Badalyan

Political commentator Hakob Badalyan wrote on his Facebook page.

"Erdogan, on his way to the NATO assembly, announced that Turkey will not approve Sweden's membership. It was evident that before the assembly, the US made a great effort to get Turkey's approval for Sweden's membership, including a telephone conversation with President Biden, but more is needed.

In this background, we should also consider the step of Erdogan to return the captured "Azov" commanders to Ukraine, by which he "opened" for himself a new space to continue the rejection of Sweden's membership.

In other words, the impression of antagonism with Russia is rather apparent in practice. In a footnote, it is much more critical for Moscow that Ankara continues obstructing Sweden's membership.

Russia, of course, has expressed displeasure with the return of the "Azov" commanders, but Moscow, in turn, is trying to raise the "price" ahead of the Erdogan-Putin level contact.
