An agreement was reached to activate contacts between Yerevan and Riyadh

The RA Foreign Minister's visit to Saudi Arabia began on April 17. This is the first high-level visit between the two countries since the establishment of diplomatic relations in November 2023.

At the beginning of the visit, the RA Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ararat Mirzoyan, had a meeting with the Minister of Education of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Yusuf bin Abdallah Al-Banyan.

The interlocutors were satisfied with the high-level political dialogue between the two countries and noted that this visit of the RA Foreign Minister would be a new stimulus in the development of cooperation between Armenia and Saudi Arabia in various vital areas.

During the meeting, the ministers discussed a wide range of issues related to cooperation in education, expressing willingness on both sides to expand ties in education, science, and culture.

Special attention was paid to the importance of ensuring the development of the field in line with modern requirements through the effective use of high technologies and innovations and the potential of youth in education. In this context, Ararat Mirzoyan presented the priorities of the RA government, the opportunities provided by the activity of the "TUMO" creative center, and the already-formed international cooperation. An agreement was reached to activate contacts between Yerevan and Riyadh to exchange experience at different levels of education, implement professional training, and mutually beneficially realize the great potential of scholarships and human resources.

Ararat Mirzoyan and Yusuf bin Abdallah Al-Banyan also emphasized the maximum use of existing opportunities in medicine and technical sciences and the initiation of new programs.

Summarizing the discussion, the two ministers emphasized their great willingness to promote interstate ties in line with the historically formed friendship and mutual sympathy between the Armenian and Arab peoples.
