The delegation led by the Speaker of the RA National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, met with the delegation led by Karen Bradley, the head of the United Kingdom's delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union, during the 148th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Geneva.

The head of the parliament emphasized the stable development of bilateral relations between Armenia and the United Kingdom.

He highly appreciated the cooperation of the legislative bodies of Armenia and the United Kingdom and emphasized the positive dynamics of mutual visits and personal contacts between the two countries.

"Democracy is our only security system, and in this regard, I must emphasize the role of the United Kingdom in promoting institutional formation and supporting the reform agenda based on common values," stressed Alen Simonyan.

The meeting discussed the security situation in the South Caucasus, the social problems of people displaced from Nagorno Karabakh to Armenia, the process of settlement of Armenia-Azerbaijan negotiations, and the establishment of security and peace in the region.

Touching upon the issue of Armenian prisoners of war held in Azerbaijan, Alen Simonyan emphasized the support of Great Britain in the preservation and promotion of international law in the region.
