Since the war, 15,000 citizens have gone missing in Ukraine

In an interview with Reuters, Matthew Holliday, director of the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP), said that since the beginning of the Russian invasion, more than 15 thousand people have gone missing in Ukraine. He emphasized that this number is inaccurate because only in Mariupol, according to the Ukrainian authorities, 25 thousand people were killed or disappeared.

"The vast majority of the missing and the dead are victims of war crimes, so the perpetrators must be held accountable," Holliday said. He added that investigating cases of missing persons in Ukraine would take years, even after the cessation of hostilities.
