Under pressure from protests in recent weeks, the Chinese government has announced a relaxation of its strict "Zero COVID" policy, including reducing the frequency of nuclear tests.
The country's National Health Commission said in a statement that China's State Council's Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism had released 10 new measures to allow mild or asymptomatic infections to be quarantined and reduce the frequency of nucleic acid testing.
Under the new measures, public places will no longer require nucleic acid test results. These and the health code will no longer be needed for inter-regional movements.
However, some specific locations, including nursing homes, medical facilities, and schools, may still require nucleic acid test results.
