China may have 1,500 nuclear warheads by 2035

The American agency "CNN" reports that the Pentagon's annual report on China's military strength in 2022, published on Tuesday, stated that China's stockpile of nuclear warheads had exceeded 400. Beijing is focusing on accelerating its nuclear expansion to challenge the US as the world's leading superpower.

In 2020, the US estimated that China had fewer than 200 nuclear warheads and expected the stockpile to double within a decade. China has doubled that in just two years and could have nearly 1,500 nuclear warheads by 2035 if it continues to expand its stockpile at its current rate.
