"NATO will strengthen Ukraine's air defense as a priority." Stoltenberg

At the meeting of defense ministers of the alliance countries in Brussels, Jens Stoltenberg, Secretary General of the organization, said, "Strengthening of Ukraine's air defense will become the priority of NATO countries' military aid."

"We will discuss how to increase our support to Ukraine, and the main priority will be strengthening air defense," he said. Stoltenberg welcomed Germany's delivery of the IRIS-T anti-aircraft missile system to Ukraine and called on his partners to provide Kyiv with more weapons and air defense systems to counter Russian missile attacks on Ukrainian cities.

According to Stoltenberg, it protects against short and medium-range, ballistic, cruise missiles and drones. "Supplies of air defense systems are urgently needed to help Ukraine protect its cities from the horrific and relentless Russian strikes that are causing civilian deaths and destruction of critical infrastructure."

The Secretary General of NATO emphasized that Russia's missile attacks show that Putin's alternatives are running out.
