90 percent of the team that won the 2018 Yerevan Council of Elders elections remains in the same political group. RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this during the KP rally.
"Our political team has done the work of governing Yerevan with honor; during this time, we have done a tremendous job. That is why several opposition candidates for mayor, who worked with us before, are now trying to pull that work to their side with teeth and nails," the Prime Minister noted.
According to him, they are accused of returning the former customs and using administrative resources today.
"Whoever came with an administrative resource, let him go. Coming and bringing an administrative resource disrespects both the person coming and the bringer. We will not submit to that disgrace. Yerevan adopted me like a relative. Today, I feel guilty for Yerevan because there is anxiety in the republic, in Yerevan. Still, I also want us to understand the depth and reasons for that anxiety," said Pashinyan.
The Prime Minister explained that many, taking advantage of their focus on the issue and status of Nagorno-Karabakh, used or tried to use it as a diversionary maneuver to question the quality of RA.
"Why does the situation not stabilize after the signing of the tripartite statement on November 9, 2020, because some did not achieve their goal: to bring RA to its knees, to question independence, statehood, and sovereignty?" But now, I repeat, it's not 1999, it's not 27, it's not October or 2020. It is 2023, and RA is sovereign, proud, and united, firmly highlighting its capital as the most prominent symbol of statehood," Pashinyan noted.
The Prime Minister also said that the city of Yerevan had been liberated from the dominance of criminal elements.
"Since independence, there has been no school construction, no kindergarten construction of this volume in Yerevan, until 2022–23," he said.
He asked, urged, and demanded all Yerevan citizens to go to the polling station on September 17 to take ballot paper number 2, not only for the sake of the elevator, the bus, and the yard but for the sake of the kindergarten, for the sake of the school, but with the awareness that in that kindergarten and that school, RA is being hardened: statehood, independence, and sovereignty.
