Yerevan Elections - 2023

If they are forced to attend any gathering, I offer three options

The Deputy Prime Minister of Yerevan, Tigran Avinyan, answered the question about using an administrative resource on the air of 1in.am, describing it as false information. He mentioned three options of what should be done if someone is coercively forced to attend a gathering.

"It is a difficult topic that can mislead some people. First, what about the lists? If I am not mistaken, the voters' lists were published on the websites elections.am and police.am 1 month ago; it is open information. Every headquarters prints from the system for headquarters work, and everyone can use it. They are working with people to verify the lists. They understand that who exists is not yet there. It is a logical staff work," Avinyan said.

According to the deputy mayor, when the problems related to the lists were raised at the time, it was directly related to election bribery.

"Please do not mix the staff propaganda work with the crime here. For the revolution of 2018, we fought all our lives; we fought at the cost of everything, and the force that fought from the first day for the establishment of the most important thing, democracy, no power and no position will force itself to go against those values. is he

Avinyan noted that some people felt that maybe they would be defeated shamefully; they are already starting to talk about theses of old times: fake election bribery.

"It is false information. I declare that I am responsible for using administrative resources by kindergarten and school principals. If someone is coercively forced to attend a meeting, I offer three sure options: first, contact the police; second, write to me, and I promise to silently and personally punish the person who did such a thing. The third option is to write to me anonymously, and I promise that person will also see the result if it is true," said Avinyan.

Tigran Avinyan emphasized that they do not need to show more people in any place during campaigns because there is no need for it.

"Come, cover our campaign, see how many people are joining us, what they are talking about," he said.

As for the "fixers" and those spreading false information, according to the deputy mayor of Yerevan, they have nothing to do except such things because it is their professional work. "I have observed that 70-80 percent of their materials contain a manipulation part."

Tigran Avinyan also noted that they are renovating 24 kindergartens, expanding their territories, adding groups, and have no intention of privatizing any kindergarten.

"Now we are actively discussing the issue of raising salaries from teachers to kindergarten directors because these people were left out of all our previous programs. We have made huge improvements by revising salaries. In your opinion, are some of them our supporters or not?" Avinyan said.

He added that since 2018, people have restored their freedom of thought, will, and all kinds of space in the entire territory of RA, and now, no one can threaten another.
