"Priority should be given to public transport." Tigran Avinyan (VIDEO)
Tigran Avinyan, the candidate for the mayor of Yerevan, addressed the problems of Nor Nork in a briefing with journalists. According to him, a sports complex for bicycle, skate, and football lovers was built in the area adjacent to the yard of the 164th camp. "We will implement such modular programs in many places. We are implementing many projects related to gardens in Nor Nork. They are being rebuilt. We are building a completely new park in the area adjacent to the statue of Tork Angeghi. We should start the reconstruction of the Renaissance Park tomorrow," he said.
According to Tigran Avinyan, the projects implemented in the last year are enormous. "We will continue to maintain this pace."
Avinyan also reminded us that a dedicated bus lane was tested in Nor Nork. "It certainly creates many problems for many drivers, but it is important to understand that public transport should be given priority. As a result of this test, we have raised many problems and will correct them in the next years."
He noted that there will be separate bus lanes in many streets of Yerevan. "It is a necessity, and with that, we prioritize public transport. We also encourage those with cars to move around Yerevan as comfortably as possible."
