Yerevan Elections - 2023

"It will be possible to overcome the crisis only if a new agenda is formed and established." Petrosyan

Suren Petrosyan, the chairman of the "Democratic Consolidation" party participating in the Yerevan Council of Elders elections, wrote on his Facebook page.

"Brief reference to the 3 cycles of the Republic of Armenia and the formation of the only agenda to overcome the created crisis.

1. "ESTABLISHMENT" agenda - from the 1960s to 1995. This process started in the USSR when we were formed as a political nation with clear ambitions for the future. The national, strategic, and even civilizational agenda was developed based on the implementation of Armenia's policy, which from 1988 became formulated goals, to which almost the entire potential of all Armenians was directed later, and the result was liberated Artsakh, RA's weighty position in the region and huge prospects for development.

2. "TO HAVE" agenda - 1995-2018. During this period, the subject policy was initiated in RA, according to which our fate does not depend on us. It can only be decided by the "higher courts," and the purpose of the Iraqiization of power was the service of narrow group interests, which was accompanied by the state, not only by the usurpation of economic, financial, and strategic resources but also by a substantial educational and cultural regression. These distorted goals and the consequences of the policies implemented based on them determined the next phase.

3. "TO SEEM" agenda - 2018 (from the color revolution) until today. During this period, almost all institutions of the state were disintegrated. After the 44-day war in 2020, the government, ceding Artsakh and also renouncing other strategic and vital interests of the state, at the same time, is trying to create an illusion about both the condition and its existence. These processes have now begun to accompany a widespread "have" agenda. Parallel to all this, the future and destiny are dependent on phenomena independent of our will, and surrender and adaptation are strengthened as the main political agenda, parallel to which the lack of ambitions for the future is presented as a manifestation of "rationalism." Similarly, the connection between Armenia and the Diaspora is finally disintegrating.

The created deep crisis, which can also be described as civilizational, will be overcome only if a new agenda is formed and established.

It is the "BEING" agenda, as a result of which we should be able to reaffirm our right to live in our land. The establishment of this agenda can be guaranteed through the "Identity Revolution" (Revolution for Identity), which is the only historically justified possible way. It implies not only the past and the present but also the future and our place and role."
