The international media reported details of the assassination attempt against the Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico. It is reported that he was shot four times; one bullet hit his abdomen.
A mob shot Fico as he stepped out in public after an outdoor cabinet meeting in the town of Handlova. According to eyewitnesses, the prime minister fell and was quickly taken to the hospital by car.
The shooter was arrested on the spot. His name has not yet been released.
