A new humanitarian checkpoint has been opened in Gaza

The Israel Defense Forces announced the opening of a new checkpoint for humanitarian aid to Gaza in coordination with the United States. The Israel Defense Forces said it was "part of efforts to increase aid routes to the Gaza Strip, and especially to the northern part of the Gaza Strip."

The Israeli army on Saturday ordered the immediate evacuation of several more neighborhoods in Rafah, where they were stepping up operations ahead of an expected ground offensive. About 300,000 people have already left Rafah.
