As early as this week, France may join the Czech initiative to purchase at least 800,000 artillery shells from the EU member states for the armed forces of Ukraine. Bloomberg, referring to anonymous sources, reports this. Germany, Denmark, and the Netherlands have also announced their participation in the program. Latvia and Lithuania are also considering the possibility of joining the initiative.
On February 17, Czech President Petr Pavel told the Munich Security Conference that Prague has found an opportunity to buy hundreds of thousands of artillery shells for Ukraine from third countries if funds are found to implement the initiative.
