At the meeting with the heads of the National Security Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the CIS member states, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev referred to the Armenian-Azerbaijani relations and peace negotiations.
Aliyev, in particular, stated: "Tomorrow, at the suggestion of the Russian side, the meeting of the foreign ministers of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia was supposed to take place in Bishkek. We gratefully accept Russia's mediation because it is both our and Armenia's ally and is present in our region, unlike those thousands of kilometers away.
Naturally, the history of relations between our countries includes the mediation of the Russian side. We have accepted this proposal, and our foreign minister is ready to meet with his Russian and Armenian counterparts. Unfortunately, the Armenian side refused this meeting.
Now, the question arises: does Armenia want peace? Not because he would not have refused this opportunity if he wanted peace. The Prime Minister of Armenia flies to Granada for 6 hours and participates in an incomprehensible meeting where Azerbaijan is discussed without Azerbaijan. Still, he cannot fly to Bishkek for 2-3 hours. It has vital work to do.
This is what we all need to say openly. Everyone sees this, and it is necessary to proceed from this."
