Yesterday, Iran and Armenia signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the energy sector, during which Majid Chegeni, Iran's deputy minister of gas and oil affairs, and director of the National Gas Company of Iran, said, "A memorandum of understanding on cooperation was signed in parallel with the visit of RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to Iran.
Based on this, the electricity exchange rate will also be changed according to the increase in the volume of exported gas."
The deputy minister added that 1 million m³ of gas is now exported to Armenia per day, which will be doubled based on the new memorandum.
