14 NATO countries intend to create a "European anti-missile shield."

The DPA agency reported that Germany and 13 NATO member countries had signed a declaration to create a perfect European air defense system.

According to the agency, within the framework of the meeting of defense ministers of the North Atlantic Alliance in Brussels, German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht and her colleagues signed a declaration on the "European Sky Shield" initiative. It should help to eliminate existing gaps in the current European air defense system.

Currently, some problems with defense against ballistic missiles, drones, and cruise,e missiles exist. The creation of a unified air defense system is connected with the changed situation in the field of security caused by the events in Ukraine. Until now, anti-missile defense in Europe was primarily aimed at possible threats from Iran.
