"Last night's armed confrontation between Armenia and Azerbaijan is a dangerous escalation that must be stopped. We call for an immediate cessation of hostilities and a return to the negotiating table. The EU is in contact with both sides to facilitate de-escalation," EU High Representative Josep Borrell wrote on his Twitter microblog.
