The IAEA mission has left for the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant and will arrive at the scene in a few days. Rafael Grossi, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, wrote about this on his Twitter page.
Meanwhile, Ukraine's rescue services are training in the event of radioactive material leaks from the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant bombings, which Kyiv and Moscow blame on each other. The station has been under the control of the Russian military since the beginning of March.
The day has come, @IAEAorg's Support and Assistance Mission to #Zaporizhzhya (ISAMZ) is now on its way. We must protect the safety and security of #Ukraine’s and Europe’s biggest nuclear facility. Proud to lead this mission which will be in #ZNPP later this week. pic.twitter.com/tyVY7l4SrM
