In a conversation with journalists, the "Novosti Georgia" agency, the Minister confirmed that the timing of fire localization depends on weather conditions.
The government of Georgia planned that the fire that broke out in the Borjomi gorge last week would be extinguished. However, in reality, the burning area has expanded, and the center of Kvabiskhevi and Zovreti has approached the city of Akhaltskha.
The forests have been burning in the Borjomi gorge on the right side of the Mtkvari (Kur) river since August 19. According to the latest data, the fire area was estimated at 150 hectares.
