Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan wrote on his Facebook page.
"Today marks the 24th anniversary of the October 27 crime. That terrorism was not only an attack on the Speaker of the National Assembly, Karen Demirchyan, Prime Minister Vazgen Sargsyan, and other state officials, but also against the state, statehood, sovereignty, and the government elected by the people.
It was such a blow to the state, the consequences of which we still suffer today. On October 27, the vicious phenomenon of resolving issues by violent, unconstitutional, forceful methods was laid in the country, which significantly weakened the foundations of the state and stopped the development process in Armenia.
For 24 years, we all remember one of the most challenging days of the republic. To avoid repeating such actions in the future, we must strengthen and develop our state with our daily work, love, and solidarity, creating a healthy environment."
