The next FIFA World Cup will occur in the summer of 2026, simultaneously in three countries: the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
For the first time in history, the tournament will host three countries. The two nations held a joint contest only once, in 2002, between Japan and South Korea.
The matches will be held in 16 cities: 11 in the USA, 3 in Mexico, and 2 in Canada.
The number of participants will increase from 32 to 48, and the final format of the group tournament will be decided in 2023.
The election tournament will start in 2023
Mexico, where the World Cup was held in 1970 and 1986, will become the first country to host the World Cup three times.
