The HRD of Artsakh has published photos from the closed Stepanakert-Goris road

Artsakh HRD Gegham Stepanyan wrote on his Facebook page.

"Azerbaijan's planned closure of the only Artsakh-Armenia road is another manifestation of the intimidation and genocidal policy against the Artsakh people.

On the afternoon of December 3, 2022, the Azerbaijani side closed the Stepanakert-Goris highway in the Shushi section, the only road connecting Artsakh with the outside world, for false environmental reasons.

Currently, the 120 thousand of people of Artsakh are under complete siege, facing an impending humanitarian disaster, the criminal responsibility of which is the Azerbaijani authorities.

Since the establishment of the ceasefire, we have repeatedly witnessed actions aimed at disrupting the everyday life of Artsakh by Azerbaijan, targeting infrastructures and disrupting their operations, which are components of the general policy of subjecting Artsakh to ethnic cleansing. Moreover, even recently, the Azerbaijani side was continuously inventing false information occasions to legitimize the road's possible closure.

We have alerted about the recurrence of such dangers through various possible channels and means. As a result of the lack of proper and targeted prevention, the Azerbaijani side is acting with impunity, which must finally be put to an end.

Therefore, I urge and demand the main actors of the international community to take targeted and strict measures to take punitive and preventive measures. Otherwise, the repetition of such cases and humanitarian disasters are inevitable."
