A new program to construct a gas supply network in the eastern and southern parts of Yerevan, totaling 24.7 km, was approved for 2025. At the moment, work has been completed on 9 streets, and a network totaling 17.1 km has been built, said Kamo Areyan, Advisor to the Mayor of Yerevan. According to him, the last works are underway in Vardashen, and the program will continue in 2026.
"In 2026, a new gas distribution station will be built in the capital, which the city has never had before, except for the existing three gas distribution stations outside the city and the one in Nubarashen," - he said, adding that out of 24.7 km, 7.5 km remains to be continued for next year. "Mr. Mayor, this is the program that was approved on your direct initiative at the end of 2023 and faced the capital as a serious problem: newly built apartment buildings were in distress because they did not have enough gas, and Gazprom was also facing the same problem."
According to him, this is one of the most successful life support programs in Yerevan.
