Global entertainment platform JB has compiled a list of the top ten cities with the best nightlife in the world, including Yerevan. The Armenian capital is in 7th place. The top ten include Barcelona, Paris, Tokyo, Prague, Tbilisi, Seoul, Bangkok, Bali, and Budapest.
According to the entertainment platform JB, Barcelona has been recognized as the best city in the world for nightlife. The study revealed that five of the 10 highest-rated towns are located in Europe, with Barcelona leading the list due to its substantial number of entertainment venues, affordable drinks, and extended opening hours. The Catalan capital has more than 300 bars and pubs per 100 square meters. The average price of a drink is $4.65 (4 euros), and the establishments are open until 6:00 in the morning.
Other European cities included in the ranking are Paris, Tbilisi, Prague, and Budapest, where drinks can cost up to $2.99 (€2.50) and visitors highly rate clubs.
Outside Europe, Tokyo ranked third, highly rated for safety, while Seoul, Yerevan, Bangkok, and Bali also made the top 10. JB noted that nightlife has now become one of the main factors in choosing a destination.
“Nearly 60 percent of travelers now choose a destination because of the nightlife, which shows how important it is for people to see what happens after dark. But safety is paramount when you’re drinking alcohol in a new city, especially if you’re traveling alone or with friends,” a JB representative said.
The study also found that spending on nightlife accounts for an average of 15 percent of travelers’ total travel budget.
