Bust of Uruguayan national hero José Gervasio Artigas unveiled in Yerevan (PHOTOS)

By the decision of the Yerevan Council of Elders, a bust of Uruguayan national hero José Gervasio Artigas was installed in Uruguay Square. Yerevan Deputy Mayor Levon Hovhannisyan and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay to Armenia Silvana Leska Barolini attended the solemn ceremony.
The Deputy Mayor of Yerevan expressed confidence that this critical initiative is another evidence of the warm friendship and mutual respect established between the peoples of the two countries.
Levon Hovhannisyan also informed that the agreement on declaring Yerevan and the capital of Uruguay, Montevideo, as sister cities is already ready for signing.
