Today is the Day of Local Self-Government Bodies, Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan wrote on his social media pages.
“Local self-government is the foundation of democracy. When citizens have real participation, their voices are heard, and decisions are made based on the interests of the people, the state becomes more stable and reliable.
A strong community acts independently. The community must have the freedom to make decisions and sufficient resources to implement its programs. Only in this case does local government become a real force.
I congratulate all our partners and citizens who, with their participation and work, build strong, independent, and more livable communities every day,” the mayor wrote.
