Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan touched upon the overpasses in Yerevan and the new roads.
"We had several projects: projects of overpasses and overpasses near the circus, near the "Hayrenik" cinema, which we categorically refused," he said. According to Avinyan, the projects were refused because construction work would be carried out at essential junctions for the city for 3-4 years. When they considered the potential results, they realized that the same situation would have persisted as it is now.
"Through overpasses, we are turning the city environment into a highway environment," he said, and noted that the road connecting Isakov to Arshakunyats, the tender for which was held, is progressing quite quickly, and, most likely, there will be intensive construction work on the Isakov-Arshakunyats road at the beginning of next year.
According to the mayor, in all those sections where there is a possibility, they are going that way, and in those sections where the result will be very uncertain, they are abandoning the road. "The project of the Gyurjyan road is in the finalization stage. Next, we will go straight from Nor Nork through Nork Marash. We will reach Myasnikyan Avenue. In the next stage, we need to solve the overpass problem, further down from the Gazananots section, before reaching the Saralanj bridge. But in the first stage, we are going to build the road," the mayor emphasized.
