The Yerevan City Council has decided to name Silikyan 5th Street (starting from Silikyan 8th Street and ending at Silikyan 13th Street) in Ajapnyak after the People's Artist of the Armenian SSR, Armenian composer Alexander Achemyan.
This year marks Achemyan's 100th anniversary, and a petition to name a street in Yerevan after him was submitted by the President of the Composers' Union, Aram Satyan.
