The first-ever SHARE Armenia International Architectural Conference was held under the roof of the Yerevan Municipality. In his welcoming speech to SHARE Architect President Florin Mindirigiu and the participants, Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan noted that this event serves as a platform where ideas, experiences, and visions come together, and this year’s theme reminds us that every urban development project should serve people at its core.

“Yerevan is a city whose image was created by the hands of great architects. The masterful vision of Alexander Tamanyan gave our capital a modern spirit, and the works of Mark Grigoryan, Nikoghaios Buniatyan, Arthur Tarkhanyan, Jim Torosyan, as well as many other talented architects, have enriched the architectural heritage of our city. The work they left behind is being continued with dignity by the new generation of architects, many of whom I am happy to welcome today. It is symbolic that we are in the Yerevan Municipality building, one of the best examples of Jim Torosyan’s creative mind. Today we have hosted representatives of the world’s most prestigious architectural offices, and your presence testifies to the fact that our city has become a center for professional meetings of regional and international significance,” the mayor noted.

During the solemn ceremony of the event, one of the most prestigious awards in the field of architecture, SHARE OPERA OMNIA, was awarded. This year, the award was awarded to Albert Zurabyan for his significant contribution to the field of architecture in Armenia and abroad. Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan presented the award.

Over the past 25 years, more than 45 outstanding architects from Central and Southeastern Europe and the Caucasus have been awarded this award. During the panel discussions at the conference on the topic “Urban Planning and Construction, Human-Centered Cities,” participants addressed innovative approaches, prospects for sustainable development, and the need to emphasize the human dimension of the city.
