"Accepting this slope, I accept the capital's current and past difficulties and challenges." Tigran Avinyan (VIDEO)

"The responsibility of assuming the position of mayor of Yerevan, the capital of the Republic of Armenia, is unspeakably great." This is how the newly elected mayor of Yerevan, Tigran Avinyan, began his speech after the solemn oath, emphasizing that the city with a population of more than one million should be taken care of with daily work, in some cases topical and urgent, sometimes requiring a long-term solution.

"Accepting this slope, I accept the current and previous difficulties and challenges of the capital, recognizing it not as a burden but as a mandate of honor and responsibility, work and mission," said Tigran Avinyan, then added, "I assure you that I will do the possible and the impossible to let Yerevan be a comfortable city for people so that the people of Yerevan share their problems and wishes with us, being sure that the raised problems will be solved, putting the public interest as a principle."
