In his speech, Tigran Avinyan, the candidate for mayor of Yerevan, addressed the issue of forcibly displaced people from Nagorno-Karabakh.
"Yerevan Municipality was also involved in registering our compatriots forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh, assessing their needs, organizing their stay, and other primary issues.
8076 families and 31350 people forcibly displaced from Nagorno Karabakh were counted in the Yerevan community. I want to emphasize that the municipality is not engaged in the provision of housing; only the registration of the migration service provides the families in need of extreme support with natural packages aimed at the primary market and also collects information about the families in need of social help, which is transferred to the Armenian Red Cross Society.
This process is still ongoing and has become an obligation for us," he said.
