"We have allied to implement state power in Yerevan, which we do not need to implement. It is first of all necessary for Yerevan and Armenia, which is why we entered into this struggle". Artak Zeynalyan, head of the "Republic" faction of the Yerevan Council of Elders, said this during a joint press conference with Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan.
"We formed an alliance only in Yerevan to solve local problems, but we continue to be different parties with ideological characteristics and also oppositions," Zeynalyan noted, adding: "The elections of September 17 have been held. Their results are recognized and accepted, and they are legitimate. No one contested the results of the election."
