The new electric bus is in Yerevan; the route will be released tomorrow (VIDEO)
At the procedural session, Tigran Avinyan, deputy mayor of Yerevan, announced that the first electric bus was already in Yerevan and would leave the route tomorrow.
The new bus will be of the Chinese "BYD" brand.
Tigran Avinyan noted: "We don't know the specific brand, but we are planning to hold a tender to import another 250 electric buses, which will replace the Higher brand buses that have been in use for a long time and also the purple buses, which, due to the lack of rolling stock, continue to provide inadequate service to the city's residents."
He emphasized that, as a result, the quality and quantity of transport will improve, and comfort will increase. "Most importantly, we continue to introduce "green" transport, which is one of our important commitments," Tigran Avinyan emphasized.
