Cooperation between Yerevan and the German state of Saxony-Anhalt will be expanded
The delegation headed by the First Deputy Mayor of Yerevan, Acting Mayor Levon Hovhannisyan, and the President of the Landtag of the Saxony-Anhalt Region, Gunnar Shellenberger, discussed the possibilities of developing business relations and implementing joint projects between Yerevan and the Saxony-Anhalt region of Germany. Honorary Consul of RA in the Saxony-Anhalt region of GDR, Lukas Flöter, also participated in the meeting.
Regarding the city's economic development plans, Levon Hovhannisyan noted that considering the current high level of Armenian-German relations, the municipality is open and ready to consider mutually beneficial investment proposals.
Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to meet, Gunnar Shellenberger emphasized the interest of their business people in establishing cooperation in various fields. Proposals were made for new projects and experience exchange programs in education and healthcare.
Referring to the memorandum of intent to establish friendly relations between Yerevan and the city of Leipzig in Saxony by 2021, the German side expressed hope that it could develop into evident program cooperation and invite Yerevan's partners to Germany.
