"Damage, as such, the city did not suffer." Tigran Avinyan

The Deputy Mayor of Yerevan, Tigran Avinyan, referred to the capital's planned New Year's events, informing that the complex events will start in a few days.

He spoke about the festive lighting, emphasizing that it will be exceptional this year. The city will be incredibly hospitable these days, considering the guests due to the children's Eurovision."

Tigran Avinyan informed us that the festive lighting would be switched on in the city parallel to the Eurovision opening ceremony.

In this context, the deputy mayor also spoke about the concerns raised about the lighting works "Specialists carried out these works, the concerns of fellow citizens regarding the buildings will surely be dispelled, because our primary demand to the working groups was the minimal intervention, and later also the undamaged return of the buildings, in appearance. Let me say more, there have been a lot of speculations on this topic, and various holes and metal rods have been left on those buildings since ancient times, the elimination of which will also be at the center of our attention in the spring. And, in general, we have a big project in the spring related to historical and cultural monuments."

Tigran Avinyan also emphasized that "the city did not suffer damage as such. The pictures that have been spread on the Internet have almost nothing to do with reality. The big holes, the metal rods, the "bolt" in the ornament have nothing to do with the work we did. In the past, a lot of damage was done to those buildings, and we have also recorded them during this time, and we will address them in the spring."
