In a briefing with journalists at the National Assembly, Yerevan Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan said that the design work of the new metro station "Ajapnyak" is in progress.
"The first stage is already underway; the handover-acceptance process is taking place. The final design phase will be ready next year in June-July after which, whenever there are design budget documents, the volume, a tender for the construction of the metro station should be announced," the mayor said.
When asked whether it is possible to start construction in 2023, the mayor said that he does not think that it will be in 2023. will take place.
"It is a normal process. There will be a project; I think a tender will be announced after that. Then we have to understand what financial means will be used to build the metro."
The mayor noted that it is likely that the financing will be carried out through international organizations, as there are energy-saving components in the program, and they will also attract grants.
