"We have decided that Mr. Avinyan will be the candidate for mayor. We are moving forward with that decision; there is no problem," said Yerevan Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan.
According to him: "Even I said, during my tenure, there are projects that I want to continue, they don't stop as such. I implement the projects; I think that in any case, the baton should always be passed to another person."
When asked if he would stay in the municipality after saying goodbye to that position, Sargsyan did not consider it likely. "I do not think."
