A multifunctional district similar to "Defense" in Paris will be built in Ajapnyak.

Shortly, the community will have a "Yerevan" medical center equipped with quality services and modern equipment. At the regular meeting, the council of elders approved the draft decision on changing the name of "Kanaker-Zeytun" Medical Center CJSC, supporting the change in the charter and reorganizing "Levon Hovhannisyan Cardiology Institute" CJSC in the form of a merger.

Gevorg Simonyan, the deputy mayor of Yerevan, who coordinates the health sector, emphasized that the goal of the team that initiated sector reforms is to provide quality services to the residents of the capital and decent conditions for the professional medical staff.

Currently, overhaul works are being carried out in Polyclinics No. 12 and 5 of Yerevan. In 2023, 10 more polyclinics will be fundamentally renovated with the Community and Development PIU programs.

In the current year, the community plans to acquire seven names of 30 pieces of medical equipment worth about 237 million drams in 2023. Also: 9 terms of 31 medical equipment, for which about 679 million drams will be allocated.

New approaches to road maintenance will be implemented in Yerevan, which will significantly improve the condition of the infrastructure, and care, and, importantly, attention will be paid to the timing of work planning to avoid traffic jams as much as possible.

In 2023, about 200 km of roads will be repaired in the capital, including asphalt covering, basic repairs within 10% of each street, and complex works of raising sidewalks and intricate pieces of raising observation wells. Considering the volume of current and planned projects in the building improvement field and the need to apply the correct management model, structural changes will be implemented in the construction and improvement department of Yerevan Municipality by the decision of the Council of Elders.

By the decision of the Yerevan Council of Elders, statues of famous Armenian poet Yeghishe Charentsi, People's Artist of RA, actor Karen Janibekyan, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia, Honored Worker of Science of the Republic of Armenia, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Honorary Citizen of Yerevan Sergey Hambardzumyan, Honored Architect of the Republic of Armenia Levon Hovhannisyan, Geologist of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia will be installed in the capital. Commemorative plaques commemorate Sergey Karapetyan, Senior Researcher of the Laboratory of Volcanology of the Institute of Sciences, a Candidate in Geology and Mining Sciences.

The newly constructed district at 320 Tichinai street of Ajapnyak administrative district of Yerevan will be called "Defense Housing." Council approved the draft decision. As part of the project implemented in several stages, a school, a kindergarten, a hospital equipped with the latest equipment, and a business center will be built in the district along with the residential buildings. It is also planned to establish a conifer forest on the 11-ha plot, similar to the Boulogne forest in Paris.

The Council of Elders also approved Yerevan's 2023-2025 mid-term plan in the regular session. The Yerevan Council of Elders' next session will be on November 22.
